It all started 40 years ago when Dutchman Kees Huysmans visited Tregroes and never went home, falling in love with the Teifi Valley, learning to speak Welsh and turning his ‘stroop waffle’ craftsmanship into a successful local business.

The tiny village of Tregroes (tree:groyce), meaning ‘settlement of the cross,’ is a fitting name for more than 40 years of artisan waffle production. A familiar pattern etched within our rural landscape.

Whether sweet caramel, chocolate-coated or savoury – every Tregroes Waffle carries our passion and bears our imprint.

Our journey has taken us from one man and his waffle iron to an award-winning national enterprise selling to worldwide markets.

Today, at the UK’s only stroop waffle bakery, we produce all our customers’ favourite treats to the same exceptional quality.
